- Ages: 3yr old – 6th grade
- Sundays: 10:05 - 10:50 am
- Why: Because this is a great place for children to explore who they are as a child of God!, and to become comfortable in their church home.
What will my child learn?
Ages 3 to grade 4 will all hear the same story and basic lesson in any given week, and an age appropriate level. This year, we will be using SPARK lectionary matierals (meaning the lessons learned in Sunday School will match the lessons heard in worship). Grades 5 and 6 will focus on building an Old Testament and New Testament foundation for confirmation instruction.
What will my child do?
Using a combination of large group presentation (including music and a teaching time) and time in small classroom groups to process the material, they will both grow in their faith and buid positive relationships with adult leaders and peers.
Who will be class leaders?
You and caring parents/church members like you. Since your childs safety is always a high priority, we complete safe church training and background checks for our volunteer leaders. In order to provide the highest quality experience for your child, we need your help. Please prayerfully consider how you will use your gifts and talents to join your child on this part of their faith journey. Contact Aaron Shoppa to learn more about the ways you can serve.
Where will my child's age group meet?
Children will meet from 10:05 to 10:50 am in grade specific classrooms in our lower level.
What if my child has special needs?
We will work with you to provide the best possible faith experience for your child. Please contact Aaron Shoppa to begin the conversation.
How much does Sunday School cost?
There is no fee for Sunday School. Instead, we encourage you to visit the Give tab of our website to learn more about how you may be able to contribute.
KIDS OF THE KINDGOM CHOIR SEARCHING FOR
Do you like to sing?
Are you in grades 2 -- 8?
Would you like to be in the musical and a spring concert?
Can you sing one Sunday a month during a worship service?
If you answered “yes” or “I’d like to try it!” to any of the above, please become a part of the KIDS OF THE KINGDOM CHOIR.
Our first rehearsal and “get acquainted day” is on Wednesday, August 31st at 5:00 p.m. at church. We will meet on the lower level in room 114-115. Please join us and bring a friend. We will learn to read music, understand note values and rhythm, play instruments as part of our anthems, learn to focus, and understand how our anthems tie into the worship service. We will also have parties, music contests, and lots of fun while making a joyful noise unto the Lord.
If your child is interested in joining our choir, please contact Sue Scharping at 630-968-0157 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also try to arrange some transportation to choir for children whose parents work and cannot get them to choir by 5:00.
